As the Sales Support you will play a key role in providing proactive support to the Area VP or Director to help facilitate new sales, management of contracted sales, customer experience scoring, and the internal management as the voice of the customer. You will be hands on in providing support to the business and you’ll help support an experienced and highly regarded sales team. In this newly created role, you will have the opportunity to shape processes, drive efficiencies and add real value to the sales team and customers alike.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted, customer‑centric partner to the Area Vice President or Director by providing proactive, hands‑on support that enables new sales growth, effective management of contracted sales, and an exceptional customer experience.
- Act as the internal voice of the customer by managing and resolving product performance issues, including:
- Coordinating customer returns through Itron facilities and ensuring timely re‑delivery for customer use.
- Leading quality issue responses by gathering insights, supporting root cause analysis, and coordinating corrective actions in an accountable and transparent manner.
- Support revenue cycle management activities with a strong focus on accuracy, agility, and collaboration by:
- Partnering with the Area VP and Sales Operations to support forecasting, order loading, and customer delivery.
- Managing internal revenue‑related metrics such as purchase orders, pricing accuracy, distressed POs, and booking conversion metrics.
- Strengthen customer relationship management through collaborative ownership of:
- Campaign management for solutions and offerings.
- Quoting, contract administration, and purchase order management.
- Creation and maintenance of internal specification numbers to support scalable, innovative sales processes.
- Coordinate and synthesize key business insights including sales forecasts, work‑in‑process (WIP) reporting, and ad hoc analytics to support data‑driven decision‑making.
- Plan and execute localized marketing initiatives, conferences, and customer functions in partnership with marketing and sales teams.
- Facilitate clear, authentic, and effective communications with internal stakeholders to support alignment and execution.
- Collaborate with marketing and inside sales to support lead generation activities and pipeline development.
- Maintain high standards of data accuracy, governance, and accountability within Salesforce (SFDC).
- Take ownership of tasks, processes, and controls to continuously improve efficiency, scalability, and customer outcomes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or a related field, and/or relevant industry experience.
- 0–3 years of experience in sales support, operations, revenue management, or similar roles.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and report‑writing skills with a detail‑oriented and accountable mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting or driving process improvement initiatives, including process redesign, system enhancements, or service reviews.
- Experience with dashboard reporting and data visualization tools, including Power BI.
- Background in utilities, energy, telecommunications, or related technology‑driven industries.
- Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external partners.
- Understanding of manufacturing environments, forecasting, revenue planning, and sales management tools within electric and gas utility markets.
- Technology‑focused background with an interest in innovative, customer‑focused solutions.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience and may vary by location. The base salary is $75,000-124,500 annually.
