About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Geomatics Engineer, Topographer, Geologist, or profession related to the mining industry with photogrametry/drone knowledge to spearhead the adoption of advanced drone technology and geomatics suites on-site.

In this role, you will be the on-the-ground technical expert and educator, bridging the gap between cutting-edge data capture solutions and daily mining operations. Your mission will be to train, enable, and empower site teams to successfully integrate enterprise workflows, photogrammetry tools, and high-precision spatial data into their daily routines. You must be familiar with on site work and have experience managing relationships in a mining context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training & Enablement: Deliver comprehensive training programs for on-site personnel, teaching them how to safely and effectively execute drone flight operations and manage mapping missions making the most of the Skycatch ecosystem.
  • Technology Adoption & Evangelism: Educate site teams on when and why a drone survey is relevant to their specific needs, helping them identify high-value use cases for spatial data in their daily operations.
  • Spatial Data Management & QA/QC: Guide teams in processing, analyzing, and validating complex georeferenced datasets to ensure they are extracting accurate, actionable insights.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal technical teams and the client's on-site personnel to troubleshoot issues, optimize workflows, and drive sustained product engagement.
  • Intelligence Gathering: Identify bottlenecks in current site workflows and identify gaps where Skycatch solutions can add value.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Geomatics (Geomensura), Topography, Geology, Surveying, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 2 or more years of proven professional experience in mining, surveying, or civil engineering environments.
  • Drone Expertise: experience with enterprise-grade drones (UAVs) and mapping missions. Confident with complex missions, candidate must have had a drone pilot license at some point (does not need to be currently valid). You must know the technology inside and out in order to effectively teach it to others.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of coordinate systems, GPS/GNSS equipment, and processing high-volume georeferenced data.
  • Soft Skills: Highly motivated, self-driven team player with strong communication and mentoring skills. Ability to operate autonomously on-site while maintaining alignment with broader project goals.
  • Language: Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (written and spoken) to interface with international product teams and documentation.
  • Software: Hands-on experience with major photogrammetry engines and spatial data platforms.
  • Hybrid workload & Schedule: This role requires a high degree of flexibility and a willingness to work in high-altitude mining environments. The candidate must be prepared to be on-site 50% of the time, on 5x2 basis.
