Junior Implementation Engineer

As a Junior Implementation Engineer, you will play a key role in deploying and maintaining our robotic delivery systems. You will work closely with the engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless implementation of our solutions at various sites. This role includes a comprehensive 4 to 6-month training program designed to provide a theoretical-practical (20/80) experience in a fast-paced startup environment.

Location: On-site: Colombia, United States. Assignments are tied to the needs of the company and might change during the program.

Training Program Phases:

  • Introduction to Robot.com & Foundational Training (1-3 weeks): Learn about the company, its operations, and receive foundational training on robotic systems, maintenance, and deployment procedures.

  • On-field Intensive Training (15-20 weeks): Hands-on experience at various implementation sites (America, Middle East, or Asia). You will engage in robot preparation, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and execute launch plans for new sites.

  • Experience Debriefing (1-3 weeks): Review and analyze the training experience, providing feedback and suggestions for future implementations.

As a Junior Implementation Engineer, you have several responsibilities including but not limited to:

Implementation & Maintenance Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and testing of robotic delivery systems.

  • Conduct system troubleshooting and perform necessary maintenance repairs or adjustments.

  • Monitor and ensure the robotic fleet's readiness and performance.

  • Document and report implementation processes, issues, and resolutions.

  • Oversee the cleanliness of the workshop to ensure smooth transitions between shifts.

  • Implement procedures for managing lost robots and teleoperation.

Operational & Deployment Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to execute site deployment plans.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards during undeployment.

  • Train end-users on system operation and maintenance.

  • Recollect inputs to create launch plans for new sites to operationalize fleets in weeks.

  • Innovate on launch playbooks to help scale operations across different cities.

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for deployment and support.

Communication & Strategy Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary communication link between field technicians, maintenance, hardware, and remote operations teams.

  • Use platforms like Discord for real-time updates on bot status to all stakeholders.

  • Drive initial service adoption through launch marketing campaigns with partners and Central Ops.

  • Act as the tactical point-of-contact for partner POCs and other external stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel: Flexibility to move to various implementation sites as required.

  • Travel requirements: Having a valid US visa or any other requirement needed to travel to operational sites.

  • English fluency: Writing, reading, and conversational B2/C1 English level.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering.

  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of mechanical systems, electronic circuits, Linux operating systems, and network configuration (LAN/WAN, SSH).

Bonus Points (You might have also had):

  • Experience with PCB maintenance, programming languages, or ROS/ROS2.
