About ReynKo

ReynKo’s vision is to control and mitigate turbulence, one of the leading causes of energy use in the industrial sector. We do this through software and hardware solutions based on our unprecedented understanding of fluid turbulence, having developed a powerful framework for solving the Navier-Stokes equations. Turbulence is a ubiquitous phenomena and our solutions can help create better planes, cars, wind turbines, and open frontiers of design that are currently inaccessible.

Accurate simulation of turbulent flows often exceeds the limits of the world’s fastest supercomputers. We think the understanding provided by our breakthrough can dramatically reduce computational costs without significant losses in accuracy. With that said there’s no getting around the difficulty of simulating turbulence. In order to realize our goals we need to be at the cutting edge of both the physics of fluid dynamics and high performance computing.

The Role:

ReynKo is hiring a Principal Scientist to help extend the mathematical framework and develop algorithms that will power our proprietary simulation platform.

We are happy to share more technical information and a draft manuscript with individuals interested in this position.

  • Become familiar with our theoretical framework, which involves Navier-Stokes, operator equations (similar to Schrödinger equation) and statistical methods
  • Extend the theory to new situations and domains
  • Rigorously understand the spectral properties of turbulent flow and implications for discretization methods
  • Write research-level code from scratch to simulate turbulent flows
  • Implement computational solvers for differential equations

  • Have PhD level competency in theoretical physics or applied mathematics.
  • A broad physics background. Be familiar with the Navier-Stokes equations, operator equations, etc.
  • Have extensive experience working on open ended research projects.
  • Motivated to master a novel physical theory
  • Bonus: Experience writing software for scientific computing (e.g. Python/Julia/C++).

What we offer:

  • The opportunity to work on cutting edge science and math, with massive impact across industries
  • Work closely with excellent mathematicians and physicists at a fast-growing venture-backed startup
  • Comprehensive benefits plan including health and dental insurance; parental leave.
