About Nevoya:

Nevoya is North America's leading next-generation electric trucking carrier, transforming logistics through AI-native operations and relentless customer focus. The company builds and uses proprietary technology to deliver zero-emissions carrier services to Fortune 500 shippers with superior economics and service to legacy diesel operators. The company has operations in California and Texas, and is backed by globally-renowned investors including Lowercarbon Capital.

About the Role:
The Director of Workforce Operations will serve as both a people leader and HR business partner for our transportation organization. This role manages a distributed team of Regional Operations Managers while directly overseeing driver workforce engagement, employee relations, compliance, and retention. You will design and implement HR processes and policies tailored to hourly, semi-skilled employees, ensuring the workforce is supported, compliant, and positioned for long-term success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Regional Operations Managers to drive driver engagement, safety, compliance, and retention

  • Partner with leadership and compliance teams to design, implement, and cascade workforce policies and procedures

  • Act as HRBP for the transportation org, overseeing employee relations, performance management, onboarding/offboarding, and workforce planning

  • Implement systems for payroll accuracy, compliance audits, and workplace investigations (e.g., worker comp incidents)

  • Design training, coaching, and communication frameworks for managers and drivers to ensure adoption of policies and programs

  • Establish structured feedback loops and driver development pathways to improve employee experience and safety outcomes

  • Conduct site visits to build trust, support policy rollout, and serve as the HR face for drivers

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experienced people leader with at least 10 years of experience leading teams of up to 10 ICs, ideally while still being hands on

  • 8+ years of experience with HR processes, employee relations, and compliance

  • Strong background managing hourly/labor populations

  • Proven ability to design scalable HR/people processes and policies

  • Skilled in employee relations, compliance, and workforce development

  • Effective communicator, able to engage directly with frontline employees and through managers

At Nevoya, we believe diverse teams build better solutions.
