We’re looking for a thoughtful and motivated Public Safety Business Development Associate/SDR who wants to do meaningful work in support of first responders. You’ll engage with law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies, listen to their challenges, and introduce solutions that make their work easier and their communities safer. Whether you’re transitioning from public safety or bringing experience from inside sales, this position offers a chance to grow your career while making an impact that matters.

Candidates residing in a western or central time zone are preferred.

What You Will Do

Each week brings new opportunities to connect with public safety professionals and open doors for meaningful conversations. Here is a snapshot of a typical day in this role:
• Conduct proactive outreach through calls, emails, and social channels to engage with public safety agencies.
• Partner with Account Executives to refine messaging, align on strategy, and prioritize outreach.
• Keep Salesforce updated with accurate lead information, notes, and pipeline activity.
• Collaborate with Marketing on campaign follow-ups and event-driven outreach.
• Research new agencies and develop lists to expand awareness and create qualified opportunities.
• Learn Mark43’s platform deeply enough to explain how it helps agencies work more effectively and serve their communities better.

What We Need For Our Team

  • Clear and confident communication skills, including comfort with cold calling.
    • A record of meeting outreach goals and booking qualified meetings.
    • 2–5 years of experience in Sales Development, Business Development, or inside sales.
    • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
    • Self-motivated, with a strong desire for consistency and a willingness to learn.
    • The ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities.
    • A sense of ownership and accountability to your work and your teammates.
    • A genuine interest in public sector or mission-driven technology.

Preferred, Not Required

  • Experience working in or alongside public safety agencies.
    • Experience working in a SaaS and/or startup environment.
    • Salesforce or other CRM platforms for lead management.
    • Sales engagement tools such as Outreach or Salesloft.
    • LinkedIn and other prospecting platforms for research and sourcing.
    • Chat or real-time engagement tools for inbound responses.
    • Collaboration tools for team communication and coordination.
