The role

As a Customer Engineer, you will own hands-on execution of AI agent deployments for strategic customers in trade finance, supply chain, and industrial operations. You'll translate complex business workflows — letter of credit examination, document compliance, credit decisioning — into working agent configurations, validated integrations, and production-grade deployments. This is a forward-deployed builder role: you'll work directly with senior stakeholders at customer organizations while going deep on agent behavior, tool orchestration, and system integration.

What success looks like

  • Enterprise customers launch and scale AI agents that measurably improve document review speed, compliance accuracy, and operational throughput.
  • Agent deployments are delivered on time with high quality — configurations validated, integrations tested, edge cases handled.
  • Customer feedback loops are tight: product gaps surface quickly, deployment patterns become repeatable, and each engagement improves the next.
  • Technical stakeholders at customer organizations trust you as the primary point of delivery accountability.

Core responsibilities

Agent Build & Configuration

  • Own end-to-end execution of AI agent builds for enterprise customers, from scoping through launch and iteration.
  • Configure agent behavior, tool access, prompt strategies, guardrails, and exception routing for trade finance and compliance workflows.
  • Write and maintain deployment artifacts including configuration specs, validation plans, and launch readiness checklists.
  • Test and validate agent outputs against business rules, regulatory standards (UCP 600, ISBP 821E), and customer-defined acceptance criteria.

Integration & Technical Delivery

  • Build integrations between Loamist agents and customer systems — ERP, document management, banking platforms, and internal tools.
  • Own deployment execution including environment setup, data pipeline validation, system connectivity testing, and production cutover.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across agent behavior, integration points, and data quality during deployment and post-launch.
  • Maintain technical documentation including integration specs, configuration guides, and runbooks for each customer deployment.

Customer Delivery & Relationship

  • Serve as the primary technical delivery contact for assigned customer engagements, managing expectations and driving accountability.
  • Conduct regular delivery syncs with customer stakeholders, providing clear progress updates, risk flags, and decision points.
  • Lead UAT coordination with customer teams — defining test scenarios, managing feedback, and driving to sign-off.
  • Build trust-based relationships with customer technical and operations teams that support expansion and long-term retention.

Platform Feedback & Knowledge Building

  • Surface product gaps, feature requests, and platform improvement opportunities based on real deployment experience.
  • Contribute to the development of repeatable deployment patterns, configuration templates, and customer onboarding playbooks.
  • Share field learnings with Engineering, Product, and GTM teams to improve platform capability and sales readiness.
  • Help build the knowledge base that enables future Customer Engineers to ramp faster and deliver more consistently.

Required qualifications

  • 4+ years in customer engineering, solutions engineering, implementation, or a comparable hands-on technical delivery role.
  • Experience building and deploying integrations across enterprise systems — APIs, data pipelines, document management, ERP, or banking platforms.
  • Comfort working directly with enterprise customer stakeholders — managing expectations, navigating ambiguity, and driving delivery accountability.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across systems, data flows, and application behavior.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML systems, LLM-powered applications, or agent-based architectures.
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation — integration specs, deployment guides, and configuration references.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for customer onsite engagements, workshops, and go-live support.

Nice to have

  • Experience deploying AI agents, LLM-powered tools, or intelligent automation in production enterprise environments.
  • Domain experience in trade finance, banking operations, supply chain, logistics, or compliance-regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with agent orchestration patterns, tool-use architectures, MCP (Model Context Protocol), or multi-agent systems.
  • Experience with document processing, OCR, structured data extraction, or compliance validation workflows.
  • Track record of building repeatable deployment processes and onboarding playbooks that scale across customer engagements.
