The Role:
We are seeking a Head of Human Resources who will lead day-to-day HR operations and compliance for Robot.com from Colombia. This role requires hands-on experience managing HR processes, documentation, labor regulation, payroll, and employee relations in both Colombia and the United States. You will be responsible for ensuring that all HR practices meet legal, procedural, and policy standards across jurisdictions, while supporting hiring, onboarding, role alignment, conflict resolution, and internal communication.
This is a hands-on operational role — ideal for someone who is highly organized, process-driven, and comfortable ensuring structure and compliance in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Compliance (Primary Focus)
Ensure labor law compliance and proper HR process execution in Colombia and the United States.
Manage employee documentation, contracts, onboarding, offboarding, and records across both countries.
Maintain correct employment classifications (employee vs contractor, exempt vs non-exempt) in both jurisdictions.
Administer payroll and benefits coordination for U.S. and Colombia employees in partnership with Finance.
Maintain and update employee handbooks, internal policies, org charts, and role documentation.
Ensure accurate and consistent usage of HRIS and other internal workforce systems.
Employee Relations & Support
Serve as a trusted HR point of contact for employees and managers across regions.
Facilitate fair and confidential resolution of employee concerns and workplace issues.
Support team communication norms, expectations, and internal processes.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Oversee hiring processes — job postings, screening, offers, contracts, onboarding.
Ensure compliant and consistent hiring workflows in both the U.S. and Colombia.
Coordinate onboarding processes for all employees.
Performance & Organizational Alignment
Support managers in performance cycles, feedback documentation, and role scope clarity.
Ensure job descriptions, titles, and levels remain up to date and aligned with structure.
Help maintain clear expectations and operating rhythms across teams.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Engineering, Law, or related field.
HR certifications are a plus (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, HRCI, etc.)
Experience
8+ years of HR experience, with demonstrated responsibility in HR operations, compliance, and employee relations.
Required: Hands-on experience managing HR processes, payroll, benefits, and employment law compliance in both Colombia and the U.S.
Experience working with distributed teams.
Skills
Strong knowledge of: Colombian labor law and HR processes & U.S. employment regulations, payroll practices, and benefits administration
Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR, Rippling, ADP, Gusto).
Excellent documentation discipline and organizational skills.
Advanced communication skills in Spanish and English.
