About Us

Circuit is transforming how cities move by providing clean, efficient, and flexible last-mile transit services using electric vehicles (EVs). We partner with municipalities, transit agencies, and private companies to bridge the gap between public transit hubs and residents’ final destinations—reducing congestion, emissions, and transportation inequity through scalable electric mobility solutions. We're looking for strategic thinkers who thrive on building meaningful partnerships that make a real impact.

Overview

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a vital role in driving Circuit’s growth by generating new business opportunities, qualifying inbound leads, and executing outbound prospecting efforts. In addition to traditional BDR responsibilities, this role directly supports Circuit’s Target Account Program, ensuring consistent research, outreach, contact mapping, and opportunity creation within a defined portfolio of high-priority target accounts.

This person must be motivated, organized, and comfortable engaging municipal leaders, developers, property owners, hotel partners, and transportation stakeholders to open doors and build early-stage relationships.

Responsibilities

Lead Qualification & Early Discovery

  • Qualify inbound leads from marketing campaigns and other channels.
  • Conduct initial discovery calls to understand prospect needs, transportation challenges, and potential fit for Circuit's services.
  • Recommend appropriate services or product offerings based on prospect requirements.
  • Clearly and confidently articulate Circuit’s value proposition across email, phone, video, and LinkedIn outreach.

Outbound Prospecting & Opportunity Generation

  • Execute daily outbound outreach through cold calling, email sequences, social selling, and multi-touch campaigns.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in assigned territories and market segments.
  • Schedule introductory meetings between qualified prospects and Account Executives.
  • Maintain high, consistent outbound activity levels aligned with KPIs.

Target Account Program Support

  • Support the company’s Target Account Process, working systematically through defined lists of priority accounts.
  • Research and map key contacts (mayors, transportation directors, council members, developers, hotel stakeholders, influencers, etc.).
  • Execute structured outreach sequences tailored to each target account.
  • Track and document competitive landscape, incumbents, funding sources, mobility priorities, local development projects, and other intelligence.
  • Maintain organized notes and structured data in HubSpot to ensure full visibility for Account Executives and leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Revenue and AEs to help target accounts progress toward opportunity creation.

Collaboration, Reporting & Tools

  • Report weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance metrics to the Head of Revenue.
  • Partner with Marketing to help refine messaging, campaigns, and outreach strategies.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, ensuring all outreach, insights, and contacts are logged in HubSpot.
  • Stay informed about new services, product updates, mobility trends, and relevant industry developments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in sales, business development, operations, customer success, or a related function.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to speak confidently to senior-level municipal and private-sector stakeholders.
  • Strong research and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and outreach streams simultaneously.
  • Ability to interpret and act on KPIs to evaluate and improve performance.
  • Experience using Google Workspace, HubSpot CRM, and a willingness to learn new tools quickly.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Customer service, negotiation, or stakeholder engagement experience is a plus.
  • Interest or familiarity with government sales, microtransit, mobility, real estate development, tourism, sustainability, or transportation planning is a plus.
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent time-management and prioritization abilities.
