Mill is all about answering a simple question: how can we prevent waste? Less waste can save time, money, energy, maybe even our planet. And there’s no better place to start than food. Food waste is one of the most solvable climate problems facing us today. Plus, our trash really stinks. It’s gross, heavy, and our least favorite chore. At Mill we are striving to build a better environment for all, as we take on climate and kitchen change.

As the Financial Planning and Analysis Lead you’ll…

  • Manage development of the company’s budget and related KPIs, serving as liaison with senior management and department heads to prepare financial and strategic plans for individual departments and the wider organization
  • Ensure financials are reported accurately and deliver key insights on the business in reporting to leadership and the board of directors.
  • Own and continuously refine the company’s FP&A model and conduct financial analysis to support strategic business decisions as well as evaluation of strategic partnerships and M&A opportunities
  • Support exploration, and raising of non-dilutive capital including structuring, responding to diligence requests and reporting
  • Support the compilation of the company’s financial audit processes
  • Be an architect of processes and key stakeholder in systems that automate financial and KPI performance monitoring, including but not limited to implementation of an ERP system
  • Recruit, select, orient, train and manage the future buildout of the finance staff

Ideally you’ll have…

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance or accounting, or related majors including business and economics, or an MBA
  • 4+ years of finance experience, preferably in investment banking, private equity or tech FP&A
  • High level of attention to detail and significant experience in financial modeling and performing complex financial analyses
  • Previous exposure to detailed analytics and forecasting, along with a collaborative approach to decision making
  • Experience working in a high-growth, dynamic environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Data-driven problem solving skills and the ability to drive quality and process improvements

The estimated base salary range for this position is $155k to $180k, which does not include the value of benefits or a potential equity grant. A wide range of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, market conditions, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and business and organizational needs. At Mill, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
