Group Liquidity Lead Specialist
The Group Liquidity Lead Specialist is a key role to manage the BP Group’s liquidity forecasting processes (short term position and/or mid-term liquidity forecasts).
This role is accountable for determining the consolidated daily cash position and/or the mid-term liquidity forecast to ensure that the Group can maintain adequate of level of funds on mid-term horizon and inform the ST&S trading teams to go to market for immediate liquidity needs and optimize the daily use of funds in all currencies.
Reporting to the Senior Liquidity Manager, the Group Liquidity Lead Specialist is a key contributor to the in-house bank core operations:
- The daily cash position is compiled by analysing cash inflows and outflows via a detailed review of data for incoming cash, funding requirements and outgoing payments.
- The mid-term liquidity is reported to bp leadership based on data submissions across all bp finance teams and M&A team and other functions to provide visibility over the group’s liquidity risk.
In this role You will (be):
- Execute the Group’s cash investment practices in line with the cash investment policy and strategy and within agreed parameters.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational disruptions and business inquiries.
- Performing the mid-term forecasting process, liaising with businesses to understand variances between forecasts and actuals.
- Performing the CCY forecast weekly
- Approve tickets (Cross currency related) that exceed threshold in value as these directly impact group currency.
- Partner with Treasury Trading to provide more insight on forecasts, following up with businesses to understand any forecast variances and confirming currency forecast projections.
- Sign off Monthly Bank reconciliations
- Understand systems architecture and how it impacts the liquidity team.
- Take on ad-Hoc project management requests/support agile teams within the wider treasury function.
- Design reports, tools to support teams to extract and analyze data in an efficient manner working with I&E and senior leaders.
- Investigate issues which come up in the operations space with the aim of resolving them across our broad range of partners, such as GBS and I&E.
- Assist in Treasury’s efforts to ensure global best practices and standardized processes are in place for all activities.
- Ensure compliance with bp’s Code of Conduct, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, internal controls and trade sanctions requirements.
- Develop, maintain and practice Business Continuity Plans for the Liquidity Management team.
- Update and maintain business process documentation.
- Be a role model and display bp values and who we are.
What You will need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Finance, Economics, Business, or another quantitative field experience
- Fluency in English, other European languages could be an advantage
- Significant experience in Corporate Treasury functions with treasury trading
- Significant experience of in-house banking model and in-house cash pooling models.
- Experience Broad understanding of bp’s businesses and functions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence to take decisions based on training and problem solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work independently under tight deadlines and pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
