Role Summary:

As Arbor's Lead Software Engineer with a depth of focus on frontend, you will be instrumental in building a platform that brings clarity to energy choices for consumers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data-Driven Design: Lead the development of our consumer UI/UX with a keen focus on user behavior. Use A/B testing to make informed decisions that enhance user experience.

  • Team Stewardship: Actively participate in hiring and mentoring the foundational engineering team, driving Arbor's tech vision.

  • Architecture and Integration: Steer our platform's architectural course with an emphasis on scalability, efficiency, and user relevance. Collaborate to elevate Arbor's integrated user experience.

  • Full Stack Development: Drive the growth of our platform using leading-edge technologies like Node, Typescript, and React, and other yet to be selected technologies.

  • Data Management: Work closely with our data architecture spanning tech like BigQuery and Snowflake, ensuring integrity and transparency.

  • QA and CI/CD: Instill a testing mindset, uphold CI/CD best practices, and champion automation.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Bridge gaps between product, design, marketing, and business to define objectives and roll out unmatched user experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Enthusiasm for simplifying energy decisions and championing cleaner energy alternatives.

  • 10+ years of professional experience as a software engineer

  • Comprehensive frontend and backend development acumen.

  • Experience with GraphQL and other popular frontend frameworks.

  • Experience with A/B testing methodologies.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and an automation mindset.

  • Competency in GCP, AWS ecosystems, or similar platforms.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • The ability to simplify and streamline complex problems.

  • You enjoy staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

  • Degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.

Location & Work Environment:

While this position is fully remote, candidates should be located within a reasonable distance of one of our hub locations in Boston or Austin.
